PCATS Announces Appointment of Susan Hilaski as Director of Technology Standards Implementation

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) announced that Susan Hilaski will join its staff on October 17, 2005, as director of technology standards implementation.

Prior to joining PCATS, Hilaski was manager, Technology & Industry Information for the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA). At NBWA Susan has been responsible for promoting, protecting and enhancing the position of 2,000 licensed independent beer wholesalers when dealing with suppliers, retailers, solution providers and other trading partners on eCommerce, technology, regulatory and market-related issues. In addition to those duties, Susan has served as Executive Secretary of the Beer Industry Electronic Commerce Coalition (BIECC) and has been responsible for direct education programs, training materials and technology-focused seminars for beer wholesaler owners and employees.

“Susan’s background with over 10 years experience in association management in an industry closely aligned with the industry we serve makes her an ideal candidate for this position,” said Scott Hartman of Rutter’s Farm Stores and Chairman of the Board of Directors of PCATS.

“We are extremely pleased to have a person of Susan’s background and qualifications join us on the PCATS staff. As director of technology standards implementation she will be responsible for managing the implementation activities for standards created by the alliance”, said PCATS Executive Director John Hervey. “I’m confident Susan will be an extremely valuable contributor to furthering the successful implementation of standards in the industry,” he added.

Ms. Hilaski is a graduate of the University of Maryland and received her B.A. in Behavioral and Social Sciences.

Hilaski replaces Ted Mason who is leaving PCATS to become Executive Director of the Kentucky Grocers Association/Kentucky Association of Convenience Stores.  “Ted has been a great partner as we have built this organization over the past eighteen months. We will miss his wise counsel and we wish him the best of luck in his new position,” said John Hervey.
