PCATS SEEKS EXECUTIVE DIRECTORAlexandria, VA – November 26, 2007

Devin Bates, chairman of the board of directors of the Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS), announced today that John C. Hervey, currently serving as Executive Director of the alliance, will be retiring on January 31, 2009.  Commenting on the announcement Bates stated, “This is another example of John’s great leadership and commitment to the PCATS organization. The personnel committee requested that when he decided to retire John give it sufficient time to seek a new director.  He has done this by giving us more than a year’s notice. We will now begin the difficult task of seeking a replacement for John.”  The alliance has scheduled its annual Strategic Planning Meeting for December 10 and 11, 2007, and Bates stated, “As we begin this year’s meeting the subject of the kind of individual we want to replace John will definitely be on the agenda.”  He concluded by stating that anyone interested in applying for the position should send an email to him at [email protected]. Any correspondence will be treated confidentially.

Hervey has been the Executive Director of the alliance since its inception and will have completed over 5 years in that capacity at the time of his retirement.  He has had a long and varied career in the petroleum and convenience industry. Prior to becoming Executive Director of PCATS, Hervey served as Chief Technology Officer for NACS, was a consultant on the staff of Gerke and Associates, served as Director of IT for Minit Mart Foods in Bowling Green, KY, and spent 25 years at Mobil Oil Corporation in a variety of positions.  Hervey is also a retired US Navy Captain, having served over 35 years both active duty and in the NAVY Reserve beginning in 1955 as a Seaman Recruit.
