PCATS Executive Director and CEO Steps Down

Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) Executive Director and CEO Tom Oare has informed the PCATS Board of Directors that he will step down effective June 30. The Board of Directors named PCATS Director of Standards Development & Maintenance Scott Wood as interim director, effective July 1.

Oare, who has been active in PCATS since its founding and was PCATS treasurer from 2004-05,  cited personal, non-medical reasons for his resignation. "On behalf of the PCATS Board of Directors, we thank Tom for his dedication and leadership at PCATS, as well as his service to the petroleum retailing industry as a whole.  We wish him the best as he continues forward," said PCATS Chair Gabriel Olives, vice president of IT/petroleum of Turkey Hill Minit Markets.

Wood brings more than 15 years of experience in the convenience and petroleum retailing industry. He joined PCATS in 2006 and led its collaboration with members in defining, developing and maintaining the electronic commerce standards used in the convenience and petroleum retailing industry.

"I'm looking forward to guiding PCATS through this transition," said Wood. "My familiarity with PCATS standards and active involvement in membership relations will allow us to continue to advance the PCATS vision and serve our industry."
