The Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) announced today the Electronic Payment Server (EPS) Working Group will be meeting at the 2009 PCATS Annual Conference.

In making the announcement, Sharon Scace, chair of the EPS Working Group stated, "At the 2009 PCATS Annual Conference, the EPS Working Group will continue to extend the POS-EPS Interface Specification to support the Loyalty Working Group.  We are looking for people enthusiastic about payment and loyalty to help us finalize this specification.  We have made great progress in the second half of 2008 on the loyalty interface."

Ms. Scace added, "We will be prioritizing our gap list for 2009 which includes topics such as bar codes, graphic displays and signature capture.  Our work plan is based on the needs of our members...come and join!"

Scott Wood, Director of Standards at PCATS, stated, "The EPS supports the separation of payment and loyalty processing from the POS-it provides a single point for payment/loyalty information for multiple devices.  Version 1 of the standard focused on payment processing and has been adopted from the International Forecourt Standards Forum (IFSF) POS-EPS Specification.  The working group will continue to present enhancements to IFSF for payment processing to support the needs of the PCATS members.  Version 2, currently under development, is to align the POS-EPS Specification with the PCATS Loyalty Specification."
