About the Speakers
Howard Glavin has over 45 years of security and protection experience starting with the USMC in 1967 to 1969, the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent from 1969 until 1994, the CISO/Director of Security for CSX Corporation 1994 to 2001, and as a Principal Consultant for Internet Security Systems (ISS) and IBM the acquirer of ISS from 2001 until December 2008, K3DES, LLC from 2009 to present.
Kara has more than 23 years of experience in the payment card industry, with a deep understanding of the petroleum sector and its dynamics. In her current role as Manager, Payment card Operations at CITGO Petroleum Corporation, she oversees various critical aspects of merchant payment acceptance and settlement. This includes third-party payments processing, POS software development, data security, and compliance with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). Additionally, her team manages private label consumer, business, fleet, and gift card programs. Previously, Kara supported petroleum merchants at WorldPay and prior to that was a Refiner Marketer where she managed payment card operations and the oil brand relationships for COCO and DODO locations. Kara is the Chair of the Conexxus Data Security Committee and is on the Conexxus Board of Advisors and is active in other petroleum and payments-related industry volunteer organizations.
