About the Speakers
Since 2004, Hauke has been focused on the digitization of analog companies. After 6 years managing software projects for Multi Channel Retailer Otto Group, he spent 7 years managing a chocolate factory and investing heavily into robotics and process automation. At PreciTaste his role as Global Director of Operations includes bringing vision AI automation to 6 of the top 10 QSR companies. Seeing an intelligence waking up and being blown away by its capabilities is what thrills and drives him.
In his role at HP, Sandip has the responsibility for leading HP's product & solutions strategy in Retail within the Advanced Compute Solutions Business Unit. His current focus is on Retail use cases in Edge, Analytics, IoT, AI & other growth initiatives.
Over the past few years, Sandip helped orchestrate HP’s entry in multiple domains including SMB Retail, Software, Cloud and Edge solutions unlocking new market opportunities. He executed successful launches of HP’s first 2 Cloud services for retail and more recently, HP’s first Edge solution. The HP Edge solution was recognized as the “World’s first retail product powered by Linux Foundation’s EdgeX framework”.
Sandip routinely represents HP externally in various industry forums, panels and keynotes around 5G, AI, Cloud, Edge & Analytics. He represents HP in Linux Foundation’s LF-Edge outreach committee to accelerate Edge deployments in a variety of verticals including Retail, AR/VR, Automotive, & Healthcare.
Sandip has over 20 years experience in Product Management & Development with leadership roles working on industry-leading products, applications & services including mobile OSs, smartphones, speech technologies and IoT devices. Prior to his time with HP, Sandip worked with Mozilla, Motorola (Google) and Siemens Mobile, where he gained extensive experience in the wireless technology market having been involved in the launch of dozens of products.
Gray literally grew up in the convenience store industry with the opening of the family’s first convenience store in 1963. Involved in the family business, comprised of 87 stores, he gained experience in all phases of convenience store and chain retail operations.
Gray has been involved on a variety of projects, including heading global product management for three of the world’s largest retail petroleum equipment and systems suppliers and Vice President of Research & Technology for the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS). Gray managed product portfolios that included payment platforms for EMV migration markets from Malaysia to Canada, as well as mobile/RFID payments initiatives. Gray also established NACS’ card payments program which saved the industry $60M in its first year of operations, and currently serves over 1,500 stores, doing 100m transactions annually.
